I heard about this event through Jes Baker‘s instagram and since it was in the Bay Area and involved plus size lingerie, of course I just had to attend! I was even more pumped when I saw that Valerie Sagun of Big Gal Yoga was also going to be there. I never attended a event specifically for plus sized women, so I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was excited to do some shopping, meet some body positive ladies, and watch a bunch of fat babes walk the runway!
I made a couple of new friends when these two sweet ladies, Maricela and Alicia, saw that I was flying solo and let me sit and hang out with them (bless their hearts). We browsed the vendor booths together, (I) drank wine, ate some cute little high heel cookies and bomb meatballs, and we bought some gorgeous lingerie. I went with this really adorable and sexy light pink and black babydoll with a fly away back from the Curvy Girl Lingerie booth. We also met Valerie Sagun together while she was selling workout pants and, even though I was kind of shy in meeting her, she was incredibly kind and looked lovely in her lingerie. Hopefully, I can someday take one of her yoga classes. She also later rocked the runway in a different lingerie piece that I absolutely adored!
The fashion show consisted of 40 beautiful plus size women of all shapes rocking some sexy lingerie with amazing confidence. It isn’t every day that you are surrounded by a bunch of gorgeous plus size women and I’m so glad I got to meet awesome ladies in such a comfortable and open space. Everyone looked so lovely! As one of the girls in front of me during the show said, I spent a lot of my time complimenting peoples’ outfits and makeup. I had a fun experience and I hope to attend another Curvy Girl fashion show event in the future. Check them out at http://curvygirlinc.com! They sell plus size lingerie as well as sex toys. If you guys know any other plus size fashion events in the Bay Area, please let me know!
