Fall essentials: fashion
Utility jackets: Utility jackets are everywhere this season and an essential to me during every season tbh.
Brown booties: If you aren’t a fan of high boots like I am, go with booties!
Oversized sweaters: Keep it warm and cozy with a knit oversized sweater.
Plaid anything: Nothing screams fall more than plaid patterns.
Thigh high or over the knee socks: Again, an essential for any season for me, especially if you don’t have really intense weather.
(Jewel toned) sweater cardigans: I’m not a huge cardigan girl unless it’s fall but I love adding them to any outfit when it gets chilly outside.
Fall essentials // candles
Candles are a must for fall! I’m obsessed with candles, preferably, Bath and Body Works candles. I have gathered quite a few from their autumn collection and my favorites so far are Pumpkin Pecan Waffles and Black Cherry Merlot.
Decor DIY: wood quote plaque
I stumbled across this quote on tumblr and loved it so much that I wanted to have it somewhere in my bedroom. I had this wooden plaque from Michael’s that I was using as a tray and thought it would look make a perfectly rustic piece of fall art so I used it on this project. Of course, you can always use another quote for this DIY!
You’ll need these items:
Step 1: Use the letter stencils to paint your quote onto the plaque. I found that the Martha Stewart adhesive letter stencils work best for me.
Step: 2: Let the paint dry for 5-10 minutes before carefully removing the stencils.
Step 3: Tie a ribbon around your flowers and hot glue or tape the flowers onto the plaque. (Since the paint smudged on the first word of my quote I just covered that area with the flowers lol)
Step 4: Tape or hot glue fall leaves on the back side of the plaque. To hang on a wall, drill a hole in the plaque. Enjoy your new home decor art!
Feel fall with…
fall home decor! I added a lot of maple leaves, candles, acorns, and decorative pumpkins and tried to replace some of my brightly colored items with more neutral colored things in my bedroom. I also replaced my spring/summer flowers with fall flowers and created this rustic coffee bar (DIY by simply_kenna on youtube) with a witchy twist for Halloween. Fall for your tastebuds: cookies
Who doesn’t love delicious cookies that incorporates all the tastiness of fall? I love the way my house smells when these cookies are baking in the oven. I have yet to make any of these recently (hence the reason I didn’t take any of these photos below), but you bet I will be in baking mode in the upcoming weeks!
Butterscotch Apple Cookies
I have made these every fall for the past couple of years because they are so tasty. Pecans on top is a must for me!
Pumpkin Apple Snickerdoodles
What is more fall festive than an apple and pumpkin snickerdoodle? This soft and chewy goodness just screams fall.
Maple Sugar Cookies
If you want to keep it simple, I recommend these maple sugar cookies. I like to add red or orange sugar sprinkles and cinnamon to the top before baking but they are still yummy without them.
